If you’ve ever experienced a course at our Tunbridge Wells cookery school before, you’ll know that it’s a fun, informal and accessible day out for all to enjoy. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a novice newcomer, there’s always something to look forward to for the whole family, encompassing every age and ability.

The school is five years old this year

When celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager decided to open a Tunbridge Wells cookery school in the heart of The Pantiles in 2013, she knew she’d found the perfect location. Already boasting a thriving foodie scene, the town welcomed her injection of fun, humour and accessibility to cooking for locals and visitors alike, while the setting of the ‘Garden of England’ provided an ideal source of provenance, sustainability and seasonality.

The school has starred on TV

Our Tunbridge Wells cookery school's Gallery Kitchen has been featured on a variety of small-screen programmes, including The Chopping Block, which Rosemary filmed for ITV in 2015-16. The school set the backdrop for our charismatic cook, who joined expert baker John Whaite, putting a series of amateur cooks through their paces. Each week, three couples showed off their culinary skills, testing their basic techniques and recreating some of Rosemary and John’s favourite dishes.

The school offers over 40 different cookery classes!

In 2017, we ran over 300 courses at our Tunbridge Wells cookery school, spanning half-day, one-day and two-day options. We’re incredibly proud of the breadth and variety of our tutorials, which are aimed at adults, families and teens/juniors. And the remainder of 2018 is no exception; from French Classics on November 24, to Artisan Bread on December 8, there are still more than 25 to look forward to before the year’s out!

The school offers corporate team-building activities

We have just the place for a work bonding exercise at our Tunbridge Wells cookery school, accommodating private hire and corporate events to inspire and entertain your staff. Up to 30 guests can join the fun in the Gallery Kitchen, while the relaxed, immersive Chef’s Table dining experience seats an additional 10 people. A cookery course is an enjoyable way to get out of the office, encouraging skills like time management and working under pressure.

The school uses only the best seasonal ingredients

In each and every seafood dish we prepare, cook and serve at our Tunbridge Wells cookery school, we strive to include ethical and sustainable fish. Most of our marine produce is sourced through Chapman’s of Sevenoaks, whose catches come from local fishing boats across the Kent and Sussex coast. Elsewhere, family-run Fuller’s in Tunbridge Wells share our values of delivering the best regional cuts, priding themselves on their fresh, thoughtfully-sourced and top-quality meats.
