About the Course
As one of the world’s leading authorities on Oriental cuisine, Ken Hom is bringing his unique culinary flair to the Cookery School. Throughout an illustrious career, Ken has gained Michelin star status as chef consultant for hotels and restaurants, while also developing menus for airlines, and personally cooking for presidents, prime ministers, celebrities and royalty. He was honoured with an OBE in 2009, and remains an ambassador for several worthy causes, including Action Against Hunger. With a wealth of TV programmes and cookbooks also under his belt, he’s literally a household name, as one in seven Brits owns a Ken Hom wok!
The legendary master of Chinese cooking, Ken Hom, will deliver an intimate masterclass at Rosemary Shrager’s Cookery School. From cooking the perfect steamed rice, to more exotic dishes such as Sichuan dumplings in spicy sauce and steamed salmon with black beans, the Michelin-starred celebrity chef will be joined by Rosemary to guide you through a selection of his own recipes and techniques. After initial demonstrations, guests will be invited back to their workstations to get stuck into recreating some of Ken’s signature meals, followed by an opportunity to ask any additional questions during a relaxed dinner with the two tutors.
Full Day Class Structure
On arrival, we will introduce you to your day over freshly baked pastries and a cup of tea or coffee.
Your day will include of a mixture of hands on cookery and demonstrations performed by our team of chef’s. The exact format will vary from class to class depending on the style of cuisine and their individual teaching style.
Cooking with your classmates is an integral part of your cookery experience. You will cook your recipes in pairs, and some independently – whatever the ratio, there is always more than enough food, and often food to take home too!
You will be eating the food that you have cooked for lunch, accompanied by a glass of wine around the dining table. Classes that do not involve cooking lunch will include a delicious light lunch.
This course starts at 11.00am and finishes at approximately 4.00pm

“What fun! Rosemary's French and Italian weekend with Rosemary herself (greatly assisted by her team of chefs and apprentices) was informative and thoroughly enjoyable. A mixture of hands on and demonstrations, with encouragement and advice the whole time.”Seejay
